A more exclusive and personalized fishing experience is individual boat rental. This option allows fishermen to choose their own trip program, whether it’s fishing around Racha Yai and Racha Noi islands, night squid fishing, or jigging – a popular type of sport fishing using special lures. But the main method of daytime sea fishing is trolling, where the boat slowly drags lines behind it, simulating small fish to attract bigger ones, leaving you to just wait for a bite and reel in the catch.
It is important to note that fishing in the waters of national parks is strictly prohibited. Therefore, although our routes may take you close to these picturesque locations, the fishing itself will be carried out in the surrounding waters, in compliance with the laws of nature conservation. We strictly adhere to all ecological standards and regulations to ensure the sustainability and preservation of the unique marine environment of these regions.
If you’re a die-hard fisherman, we can arrange multi-day trips for two or three days, where you can head to more remote and scenic places like the Phi Phi Islands, Similan Islands, or Koh Rok. It’s especially fun to go on such cruises with your own group. If you’re traveling with friends, we recommend renting the entire boat and tailoring your trip to your preferences.
Racha Yai Island is a popular destination for sea fishing enthusiasts. It is located close to Phuket, making it easily accessible. Fishing here is ideal for beginners and experienced fishermen alike. The waters around Racha Yai are rich in a variety of fish species such as tuna, baracuda and even marlin. Fishing here is usually daytime, and tours include fishing equipment and the opportunity to simply enjoy a sea trip and swim while anchored off the island.
Racha Noi is a more remote, uninhabited and less developed island compared to Racha Yai, making it ideal for more experienced anglers looking for a more exciting experience. The waters around Racha Noi are deeper, lots of underwater rocks and this increases the chances of catching big fish including giant trevally and blue marlin. Of course we should not forget that it’s all about luck and guaranteeing a catch is not possible, but the team always try to find the best way and help.
This is a unique and exciting activity in Phuket. It all takes place in the dark, when boats go out to sea in the evening with special lights to attract squid. Fishermen use special baits and techniques to catch squid, as well as at night “come alive” and predators and there is a chance to catch, for example, barracuda.
The spot is selected according to the terrain and current weather. After selecting the spot, the boat is anchored, lights are turned on and fishing begins. It is important to realize that trolling does not take place at night.
This type of fishing is not only interesting, but also allows you to see the night sea and the fishing itself from a completely different angle. The trip usually ends by midnight or 1:00 am.
Fishing in the area of more distant islands such as Phi Phi, Similans, Ko Rock are done in a trip of 2-3 days, as the speed of fishing boats and yachts does not allow you to do it in one day. In these areas of the sea there are large depth differences, so there is a chance to catch trophy specimens of almost all fish. In the evening time you can try yourself in night fishing for squid or predatory fish. On such a trip you can both enjoy sea fishing and admire the scenery of the islands, sea sunsets and sunrises.
You should be prepared that fishing will take place only outside the national parks and you will spend the main time in the sea, not on the islands, the forbidden zone is about 3 miles from the islands. Overnight camping takes place on a boat, in the open sea. The area of Siimilan Islands, Surin, Rock are closed to the public from May to November as weather conditions become unsafe for travel.
Professional fishing in the Mergui Archipelago and the famous Burma Banks is organized as multi-day trips (5-7 days) due to the remoteness of these places. Burma Banks are areas in the ocean where the depth is much shallower than in the surrounding waters, which attracts large numbers of fish. These places are characterized by the presence of a vast underwater plateau of about 1500 square kilometers, abundant with underwater rocks. This terrain makes commercial fishing here difficult, but at the same time creates ideal conditions for trophy fishing enthusiasts.
Fishing in these areas becomes available only during the “high season”, which lasts from February to April. This is due to wind conditions and sea currents, as well as the need for safety measures on the high seas. In addition, access to the main fishing grounds belonging to another state will require customs procedures.
